School Board Goals and Objectives Education Philosophy
We are a community of learners seeking to determine a balance of motives as the best way to achieve an understanding and awareness of knowledge.
It is our fundamental belief that education in a democratic society should provide an environment which will enable all children, youth, and adults to acquire information, skills, knowledge, worth ideals and attitudes, appreciation, and understanding which are conducive to successful and fruitful living in a changing world. Inherent in this concept of education is the provision of self-realization, human relationships, economic efficiency and socio-civic responsibility needs, interests and abilities.
The curriculum shall provide a pattern of learning through which pupils constantly reach new levels of growth and achievement without needless repetition.

The school, as an institution of our social order, is organized to promote and perpetuate the fundamental aims of our democratic society by providing quality educational opportunities for all the children of all the people regardless of race, color, creed or economic status.
To accomplish our stated philosophy it is the objective of the school board to furnish each student with a comprehensive educational program.
The mission statement for United Public School District#7 is as follows: Empowering the Students of Tomorrow in a Safe and Respectful Learning Environment.
Students at United Public School District #7 will:
• Communicate effectively and comprehend oral and written language
• Acquire the knowledge and practices to develop positive life-skills for future success
• Have the ability to effectively solve problems collaboratively using math, logic, and reasoning
• Analytical skills while effectively using technology
• Develop as well-rounded, creative thinkers through varied opportunities in the liberal arts
• Be prepared to live an active and healthy lifestyle
Supplementary aides provide reinforcement of educational growth. The professional services (diagnostic and therapeutic) work to discover and correct learning difficulties.
In our schools we shall endeavor to provide a balanced educational program in terms of the abilities and aptitudes of all learners and to develop the attitudes, habits, values, appreciations and understanding essential for a well-adjusted student.
The education of the youth of our area should reflect an awareness of the complexities of modern life. In a society as diverse and complex as ours, each student would be helped to feel that he belongs. Our educational objective should attempt to alleviate the frustrations that are an inherent part of our society.
